This cost effective 2 mile led beacon is a versatile compact, selfcontained solar powered beacon of small dimensions available in red, green, amber, and white color. Color chromacity of the emitted light meets IALA specifications. The lightsource is formed throug a LED of high intensity and depending on which visibility is needed the light output can be programmed accordingly.
Electronics include: charge regulator functions and with the optional infrared remote control any of the 256 preprogrammed IALA flash codes and daylight sensor setpoints can be field programmed. Electrical parameters as battery voltage, and day/night switching point can be read. The beacon is designed and constructed to operate without servicing or maintenance for up to 5 years.

The electrical system can be equipped with a 24 or 48 Amph. battery The battery is placed within the housing. The battery is charged by 4 integrated 5 watt solar generators. Charge characteristics in dark weather conditions are superb and due to the well dimensioned batterypack this beacon is specially suited for regions with low sun irradiations. The signal lantern base is made of marine grade aluminium painted with two layers of high impact epoxy coating, the color is the same as the emitted light. A membrane incorporated in the lantern housing allows airpressure equalization .

In regards to conventional laterns, the advantages are especially the large vertical divergence, the intensity of the emitted light, the long life expectancy of the LED, and the very high reliability. The maximum range of this beacon is 2 nautical mile. Weight of this selfcontained solar powered beacon with a 24 Amph. storage battery is 12 kilograms.
